SEN Teaching Assistant

Ortus Recruitment is working alongside a reputable Southfields based Primary School that provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for children aged 3-11 years. They are dedicated to helping every student unlock their potential and thrive both academically and personally. This is a great opportunity for aspiring Teachers to gain experience supporting pupil 1:1 with Autism.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support Learning: Assist in preparing learning materials and running classroom activities, tailored to the needs of students with Autism and additional needs.
  • Foster Development: Take responsibility for the emotional and physical needs of pupils, supporting their development and helping them engage with the world.
  • Varied Role: Adapt to a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outdoors, providing a responsive and caring approach to each child’s individual needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a dedicated team, sharing knowledge, experience, and learning to provide the best possible support for our pupils.

Key Requirements

  • Desirable Experience: Previous experience working with pupils and young people with Autism is highly desirable.
  • Adaptable and Caring: Ability to work in various classroom roles, both indoors and outdoors, with a responsive and caring approach.
  • Team Player: Enjoy working as part of a dedicated team, sharing knowledge and supporting each other.
