Year 6 is the most important year for students as they are preparing for secondary school; the successful individual will need to be empathetic and be able to aid students with their struggles and concerns over the course of the year.

The students will also be taking their SATs so you will need to have strong literacy and numeracy skills and good knowledge of the curriculum. Students will require as much support as possible so they can be ready for their exams.

Someone from a background of drama is also encouraged as the year has a school production at the end of the year and the teaching staff for the year will be responsible for organising rehearsals and helping the students with acting and making props.

The local area, Sanderstead, has a very homely feel and a close knit community. There are a few transport links for those who commute by public transport and stations that are fairly close by for those travelling from afar.

This role is full time from Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4pm. There are also a lot of extra-curricular activities, and you will have the opportunity to help out with these if that is of interest to you.

You will need a fully enhanced DBS on the update service and be able to provide two references from your most recent experience working with children.
