Salary: £85 – £105 per day PAYE

Ortus Recruitment is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in a mainstream primary school based in Battersea. Our school is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment where vulnerable students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), can thrive. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real difference in the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentorship and Support: Inspire and support learners by assisting with curriculum-based learning in the classroom and through engaging activities for intervention.
- Learning Material Preparation: Collaborate in the preparation of learning materials and contribute to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management and emotional health assessment.
- Progress Monitoring: Maintain daily reports on learners’ progress, identifying and addressing barriers to learning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Student Support & Intervention Mentor to provide comprehensive support to students and their parents.
- Parental Interaction: Engage regularly with parents and caregivers to discuss students’ progress and address any concerns.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Passion for SEND: A committed and passionate approach to working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Experience: Experience working in a SEND environment or a similar unit/provision
- Qualifications: A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a team of highly qualified teachers and support staff to create a nurturing and effective learning environment.
- Immediate Availability: Ready to start immediately and contribute positively from day one.
