Salary: £85 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

Do you have the enthusiasm and skills to help shape the first steps of a child’s educational journey? We are looking for an energetic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Selsdon, Croydon.
The Role:
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work with nursery and reception-aged children, supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons. You will play a key role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment where young children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering activities that promote early learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support during play and learning activities, encouraging children to explore, question, and engage.
- Support children with additional needs, including those with SEN, by adapting resources and approaches to meet their individual learning goals.
- Help to create a safe, tidy, and engaging learning environment that reflects the needs and interests of the children.
- Monitor and record children’s progress, sharing observations with the teacher and contributing to assessments and planning.
- Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction, and the development of self-confidence and independence in young learners.
About You:
We are looking for a caring, creative, and patient individual who is passionate about working with young children. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with Early Years children, ideally in a school or nursery setting.
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage young children in learning through play.
- A flexible and positive approach to working in a team environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in Early Years education or childcare are desirable.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
