Salary: £85 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Do you have a passion for working with children and helping them to overcome their learning barriers? We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and supportive school in Purley, Croydon.

The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students across various age groups, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop their skills. You will work closely with teachers to deliver tailored interventions and support that meet the individual needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with students who require additional support, including those with SEN.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of learning activities, adapting resources as needed to ensure accessibility for all students.
  • Support students with literacy, numeracy, and other key skills, providing feedback and encouragement to help them progress.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to planning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student learning and development.

About You:
We are looking for a nurturing, reliable, and enthusiastic individual who is eager to support students in their learning journey. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting, ideally with some exposure to SEN.
  • A good understanding of the primary school curriculum and strategies for supporting students’ learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning in the classroom.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are desirable.
  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
