Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support the learning and development of pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN) or requiring additional assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
- Support students with SEN, ensuring they are engaged and motivated.
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Foster students’ social and emotional well-being.
- Contribute to the development of educational programs and activities.
- Provide feedback to teachers regarding students’ progress.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferably within a school).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid qualification (preferred but not essential).
