KS2 Teaching Assistant
The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for a KS2 Teaching Assistant to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. You will play a key role in helping them develop their personalities and minds by exposing them to ideas and experiences that will help them gain a solid grounding in the world.

The successful KS2 Teaching Assistant will be responsible for organising the classroom, supervising playtime/lunch time, managing behaviour alongside the class teacher and confidently leading interventions in small groups with lower ability children to raise attainment. When needed, you will also be responsible for working on a 1:1 basis with SEN children.
This is a fantastic chance to be at the fore-front of children’s learning and development while being consistently aided and encouraged by the Senior Leadership Team and fellow staff members, with the potential to progress on to a Teacher Training programme if deemed an ideal candidate.
TEACHING ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develop a careful and creative program suitable for KS2 children
- Employ a variety of educational techniques to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
