Position: X2 Roles – year 2 and Reception Learning Support Assistant’s
Location: Tottenham, London Borough of Haringey – N17
Schedule: Full-Time, Long-Term (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 3:30 PM)
Salary: £425 – £500 per week (PAYE, NO Umbrella Deductions) Depending on experience

Our client’s mainstream school is based in the lively area of South Harrow, in the London Borough of Harrow. The area offers a mix of green spaces, local shops, and a diverse community, making it a vibrant part of London to work in.

You will be working with a Year 2 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as supporting a Reception child who also has SEMH challenges. Both children benefit from structured strategies like the “Now and Next” approach, which helps them manage transitions and understand expectations. The Year 2 pupil may exhibit challenging behaviours, often linked to emotional regulation, but with the right support, they thrive in a stable and encouraging environment. Your role will be to assist these pupils in navigating their learning journey, promoting emotional resilience, and fostering positive classroom experiences.

Requirements for this role:

• Familiarity with behaviour management strategies and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Understanding of structured support methods such as the “Now and Next” approach for helping children manage transitions.
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude, with the ability to build positive relationships with children.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours and promote emotional regulation in pupils.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with staff, parents, and external professionals.
• Ability to work 1:1 with pupils to provide tailored support based on their individual needs.
• Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).
• A commitment to promoting inclusivity and a positive learning environment for all students.
