Job Title: Year 6 Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Full-Time

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to support students in their final year of primary school. You will play a key role in helping students prepare for their Key Stage 2 SATs and transition to secondary school. Working closely with the class teacher, you will provide essential academic and emotional support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist the teacher in delivering lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and focused.
  • Targeted Interventions: Provide 1:1 and small group support in subjects like English and Maths, especially for SATs preparation.
  • Behavior Management: Help maintain a positive classroom environment, addressing behavior issues when needed.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in preparing learning materials, displays, and activities.
  • Progress Monitoring: Provide regular feedback on student performance to the class teacher.
  • Student Supervision: Oversee students during breaks, trips, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Emotional & Social Support: Offer guidance and support to students, helping with their overall development.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with Year 6 or Key Stage 2 students.
  • Knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs expectations.
  • Ability to support students with varying learning abilities, including those with SEN or EAL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
