Behaviour Mentor

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to provide dedicated 1:1 support at a primary school in Lambeth.
This role is perfect for individuals with experience in roles such as:
- Behaviour Mentor
- Special Educational Needs Assistant
- Sports Coach
- Learning Mentor
- Learning Support Assistant
- Youth Worker
- Experience with SEMH or EBD
If you have any of these backgrounds, this opportunity is for you. You’ll play a key role in helping a child with behavioural needs develop and succeed, working alongside a skilled team of practitioners who will support your professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN and SEMH needs, focusing on behavioural management
- Develop and implement tailored learning programmes to support the child’s progress
- Use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively
- Build strong, positive relationships with the pupil, their family, and school staff
- Work collaboratively with an additional Learning Support Assistant to ensure a consistent and structured approach
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with children with behavioural needs, particularly those with SEN or SEMH
- A solid understanding of behaviour management techniques and theories
- Patience, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach to setting boundaries
- The ability to foster a positive learning environment, encouraging personal growth and development
