Ortus Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and skilled 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Streatham. This role is focused on providing individualized support to a specific pupil, ensuring they receive the care and guidance needed to fully engage with their learning experience.

You will work closely with teaching staff and senior leadership, helping to implement tailored support programs for the child. The role will involve supporting the pupil both in the classroom and in alternative learning spaces, depending on their needs. You will also be involved in preparing resources, attending review meetings, and ensuring your skills remain up to date through training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a child, ensuring access to the curriculum and fostering their engagement with learning
• Work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff, following planned support programs
• Care for the child’s individual needs, ensuring their well-being is prioritized
• Assist in the preparation of resources and attend review meetings as required
• Deliver support both in the classroom and in quieter learning environments, depending on the child’s needs
• Stay up to date with relevant training to ensure you are providing the best support possible

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working in a primary school or with children in an educational setting
• Ability to provide 1:1 support and adapt to the individual needs of the child
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with teaching staff and senior leaders
• A caring, patient approach with a passion for helping children succeed
• Willingness to engage in relevant training to enhance your skills
