Position: One to One – Year 2 Teaching Assistant | Immediate Start
Location: Wembley, London Borough of Brent
Schedule: Full-Time, Long-Term (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4 PM)
Salary: £425 – £525 per week (PAYE, NO Umbrella Deductions) Depending on experience
Are you a proactive, energetic individual with a passion for working with children? Do you have experience supporting children with Autism, and a background in sports or physical activities? We have an exciting opportunity for two Learning Support Assistants to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Wembley, London Borough of Brent.
This long-term, full-time position involves working 1:1 with a Year 3 pupil with Autism, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. You’ll be part of a dedicated team, using your skills to make learning fun, active, and engaging!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with Autism.
- Use sports, physical activities, or hands-on learning techniques to engage the pupil in fun and creative ways.
- Support social, emotional, and communication development through active learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to ensure personalised learning plans are followed.
- Be a positive role model and mentor, helping the child thrive.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3 to 6 months experience working with children, ideally in a mainstream or SEN setting.
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and effective strategies to support children with ASD.
- A background in sports, physical education, or outdoor activities.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a proactive, nurturing approach.
- A team-oriented mindset with the drive to make a real impact.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
