A primary school in Crystal Palace is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who need extra guidance, helping them grow in confidence and achieve their learning goals.

The Role:
As a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support students with SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Your responsibilities will include adapting resources, assisting with daily activities, and fostering a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to Year 1 students.
• Help with the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons.
• Assist in behaviour management and encourage positive interactions.
• Support the social and emotional well-being of the students.
• Work closely with the SENCO and teachers to track progress and implement effective support strategies.

About You:

• Experience working with SEN students, particularly in an Early Years or Key Stage 1 setting.
• Familiarity with SEN strategies and the ability to adapt to children’s individual needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting children’s development.
