Learning Support Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is working with a fantastic primary school in Clapham, Lambeth, to find a Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping children achieve their best. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a forward-thinking school that values diversity and inclusion.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs, working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Your role will involve providing both individual and small group support to help children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with students who require additional learning support, both in-class and outside of lessons
- Assist with differentiated learning activities to support pupils’ individual needs
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to encourage progress and self-confidence
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement and participation for all students
- Support with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources and teaching materials
- Liaise with teachers and parents to monitor progress and discuss strategies to support individual students
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, ideally in a learning support role
- A genuine interest in supporting children with additional learning needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to the needs of each pupil
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with staff, students, and parents
- Available for full-time work (Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
