SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive school community in Hounslow. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs, supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
- Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual student needs.
- Support students with behavior management, developing strategies to foster positive behaviors and engagement.
- Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued.
- Assist with the personal care needs of students when required, including toileting and feeding, if necessary.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, SENCo, and parents/guardians regarding student progress and challenges.
- Contribute to the planning and review of support strategies and interventions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and other learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
