Are you a recent graduate who is enthusiastic about helping children as well as advancing in a teaching career. We have a great opportunity in one of our partnered primary schools where the chosen applicant would be supporting all children in the class, the head teacher as well as conducting 1:1 sessions  with specific children.

Ortus recruitment are looking for an individual that is athletic, kind, bubbly and empathetic who is ready to make a different in children’s lives and also advance in their career in the education sector.

Graduate Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons
• Engage in 1:1 and group session with children
• Help children with their homework or class tasks
• Set up and clean the classroom throughout the day
• Support children with their physical, mental, emotional and social health.
• Support the SEN children in the class
• Observe, record and report back to the head teacher regarding the children (i.e. if something is wrong/or positive, if a child is showing difficult behaviour or if you feel there is something worth reporting back

Requirements:

• Experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred
• Experience working with SEN children (preferred)
• Passion for working with students with diverse needs
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to difficult situations and behaviours
• Able to make connections with all kinds of people
• Able to stay committed and dedicated to the school and your class
