The Role:
As a Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with the class teachers to support the delivery of the curriculum, helping students engage with their learning and reach their full potential. You will take the lead in small group activities and provide one-on-one support for students who need additional help. Your proactive approach will also extend to managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive and productive classroom environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the educational journey of children across Key Stage 1 and 2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and ensuring all students are able to participate fully in learning activities.
- Lead small group sessions and provide tailored support to students who require additional assistance.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
- Assist with managing classroom behaviour, fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Contribute to the preparation of lesson resources, marking, and assessments.
- Support the inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they receive the necessary help to succeed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 1 or 2.
- Confidence in leading small group activities and providing whole-class support when needed.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, proactive approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
- Experience or a keen interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is a plus, but not essential.
