About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to work closely with children who require additional support to thrive both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in helping students overcome challenges, develop positive behaviours, and achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 or with small groups of students to provide tailored behavioural and learning support.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and contribute to individualised education and behaviour plans.
- Build trusting relationships with students, fostering their confidence and emotional resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Support children in managing transitions and engaging with the curriculum in ways that suit their individual needs.
- Monitor and report on student progress, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for improvement.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN and behavioural needs, is essential.
- Empathy and Resilience: A caring approach combined with the ability to stay calm and positive in challenging situations.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Teamwork: A collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt to the needs of the school.
- Qualifications: Relevant training or qualifications in education, SEN, or behaviour management are desirable but not essential.
