Ortus Recruitment is excited to partner with a well-established primary school in the London Borough of Lambeth, offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced One-to-One Support Staff member to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time, long-term position available immediately.

Role Overview:

As a One-to-One Support Staff member, you will provide tailored support to a student, helping them access the curriculum and engage in classroom activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with experience in supporting students with additional needs. You will play a key role in ensuring that the pupil receives the individualised support they need to thrive academically and socially in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide focused, one-to-one support to a student, assisting with learning activities and tasks.
• Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the pupil’s specific needs.
• Support the pupil’s emotional and social development in and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and support staff to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Monitor the pupil’s progress and report on achievements.
• Assist with behaviour management and provide guidance as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience supporting children in any professional, face-to-face setting (e.g., education, youth work, mentoring, childcare).
• Recent graduate (preferred, but not essential).
• Strong understanding of how to differentiate learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Compassionate, patient, and proactive in working with children.
• Excellent communication skills, both with pupils and colleagues.
• Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and supporting emotional development.
• Ideally, a Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (preferred, but not essential).
• Available to start immediately.

Salary & Benefits:

• Daily pay rate of £85 – £105 PAYE, based on experience. (No Umbrella Payments/Hidden Deductions)
• Full-time, term-time only position (Monday to Friday).
