Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

A specialist SEMH school in Thornton Heath is looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of young learners who face unique challenges.
The Role:
In this role, you will support pupils aged 7–16 with SEMH needs, helping them access their learning and develop critical life skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist in delivering tailored interventions that promote social and emotional well-being.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and mentor.
- Support pupils in developing strategies to regulate emotions and behaviours.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain an inclusive environment.
About You:
- Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or in a similar setting.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A proactive approach to identifying and meeting pupil needs.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques (training can be provided).
