Do you want to work in a fun, friendly and warm mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Lewisham (Forest Hill) as a Yr 3 Classroom Assistant? Do you want to make a different in children’s lives by providing them with support, care and academic development. In that case?

Ortus recruitment are looking for an individual that is determined, patient, and friendly and is ready to make a difference in the education sector.

Classroom Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in planning and delivering lessons
• Engage in 1:1 and group session with children
• Help children with their homework or class tasks
• Set up and clean the classroom throughout the day
• Support children with their physical, mental, emotional and social health
• Communicate with other teachers, parents and all the children
• Carry out administrative tasks like preparing resources for the teacher and help with filing and printing etc.
• Help when necessary, with after school clubs and activities
• Support SEN children in groups or 1:1 as well

Requirements:

• Face to face experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred
• Experience working with SEN children in a group as well as doing 1:1 work with SEN children (preferred)  
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to difficult situations and behaviours.
• Good work ethic and dedicated in helping children from different backgrounds and cultures
