A specialist autism school in Croydon is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, helping to provide a structured and supportive learning environment for children with ASC.

The Role:

This role involves working closely with pupils who have varying levels of autism, supporting their social, emotional, and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work one-on-one or in small groups, delivering personalised interventions.
• Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables.
• Support pupils with sensory processing and emotional regulation strategies.
• Encourage independence and confidence in a structured environment.
• Assist teachers in creating autism-friendly lesson adaptations.

About You:

• Experience working with children with ASC or related needs is desirable.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Understanding of autism-friendly teaching strategies and techniques.
• Ability to work closely within a multidisciplinary team.
