SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH
Location: South Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges?
A specialist SEMH school in South Croydon is looking for an empathetic and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs and past trauma.
The Role:
You will work as part of a team to create a safe and structured learning environment for students who need emotional and behavioural support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in de-escalating challenging behaviour using trauma-informed approaches.
- Build strong, positive relationships to help pupils feel safe and valued.
- Support students in developing emotional regulation and coping strategies.
- Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and external support services.
About You:
- Experience working with students with SEMH or trauma backgrounds is desirable.
- Strong behaviour management skills with a calm and patient approach.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable young people.
- A proactive, flexible attitude and a passion for making a difference.
