A specialist SEN school in Croydon is seeking a patient and caring Teaching Assistant to support Early Years students with autism. This role is ideal for someone who wants to help children develop their communication, social, and sensory processing skills in a structured and nurturing environment.

The Role:

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide targeted support to young learners, ensuring they have access to tailored learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with autism in structured classroom and one-to-one settings.
• Use visual timetables, PECS, and Makaton to aid communication.
• Assist with sensory regulation strategies and emotional support.
• Encourage positive interactions and engagement with learning activities.
• Work collaboratively with therapists, teachers, and parents to track student progress.

About You:

• Experience working with children with autism is desirable.
• Understanding of sensory processing and communication challenges.
• Patient, nurturing, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
