A specialist SEN school in Croydon is seeking a caring and patient Teaching Assistant to support Early Years students with autism, sensory processing difficulties, and communication needs.

The Role:

This role is ideal for someone with experience in early childhood education or SEN, as you will be working closely with children who need structured support to develop key skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for young children with autism.
• Implement visual schedules, PECS, and Makaton to support communication.
• Engage students in sensory-based activities to aid learning and emotional regulation.
• Work closely with therapists to support students’ individual development plans.
• Create a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment.

About You:

• Experience supporting children with autism or sensory needs is desirable.
• Understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning.
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to different learning needs.
