KS1 Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Wembley, London Borough of Brent

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
£90 – £100 per day | PAYE – No Umbrella Deductions
Immediate Start | 3-6 Months Experience Required

Are you passionate about supporting children in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and helping them thrive in a mainstream primary school setting? We are looking for a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wembley. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a child with autism (ASC), ensuring they are engaged in learning, social interactions, and emotional development within a structured and nurturing environment.

About the Role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 child with autism, focusing on engagement, learning, and progress.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through tailored strategies.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters key developmental skills.

What We’re Looking For

  • Enthusiastic, patient, and proactive individuals with a passion for working with young children in KS1.
  • A minimum of 3-6 months’ experience as a Teaching Assistant, Sports Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, or Tutor.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with SEN, particularly ASC, is desirable but not essential.
  • Must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Graduates or individuals aspiring to work in education, psychology, or SEN support are encouraged to apply.
