Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
A supportive primary school in Thornton Heath is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 student with SEMH needs and associated behavioural challenges.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Implement de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create a structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Support emotional regulation and social development through targeted interventions.
- Assist in managing transitions and minimising classroom disruptions.
About You:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges is desirable.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to behaviour support.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A passion for making a positive impact on children’s education and wellbeing.
