SEN Teaching Assistant – PMLD Support (Reception)

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Do you have a passion for working with children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD)?
A welcoming primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide specialist support for a Reception child with PMLD and complex medical needs.

The Role:

• Provide personal care and one-to-one learning support for a Reception child with PMLD.
• Assist with sensory-based learning activities tailored to the child’s needs.
• Work closely with therapists and medical staff to follow individual care plans.
• Use assistive technology and communication aids to support engagement.
• Ensure a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

About You:

• Experience working with children with PMLD or complex needs is desirable.
• Understanding of personal care and manual handling procedures.
• A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to SEN support.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability in a specialist setting.
