Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Do you have experience supporting children with autism and sensory processing needs?
A vibrant primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 student with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and sensory processing difficulties.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 5 student with autism, adapting learning activities to suit their needs.
  • Implement sensory breaks and calming strategies to help with self-regulation.
  • Use visual timetables, social stories, and communication aids to support understanding.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop effective strategies.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where the student can thrive.

About You:

  • Experience supporting children with ASC and sensory needs is desirable.
  • Knowledge of sensory integration techniques and structured routines.
  • A calm, patient, and positive approach to learning support.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
