1:1 Teaching Assistant π
- Location: Vauxhall, London
- Position Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Immediate Start)
- Salary: Competitive Daily Rate PAYE (Based on Experience)
- Role Summary: You will work 1:1 with children who need additional educational support, helping them to engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential. You’ll assist in planning and delivering individualised lessons, as well as supporting in-class learning. Youβll be a key member of the schoolβs SEN department, working alongside teachers to provide tailored support to students with various abilities and needs.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, MLD, etc.)
- Assist with personalised learning plans and help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support students in developing their academic and social skills within the classroom
- Encourage and motivate students, ensuring they feel confident and capable in their learning
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure effective learning strategies are in place for each pupil
- Support the organisation of teaching resources to aid student learning
π‘ What Weβre Looking For: The Ideal Candidate π‘
- A graduate in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, or related subjects) β Desirable not essential
- At least 12 months of experience as a Teaching Assistant, Academic Mentor, or in a similar role supporting children with SEN (such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, MLD)
- Strong academic background, with at least C grade or above in A Level English, Maths, or Science
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners
- Understanding and experience in working with IEPs and tailored educational plans for SEN students
- A genuine passion for education and helping children overcome challenges
- A creative, patient, and resilient approach to working with students who have varied learning needs
- An interest in pursuing a teaching career in the future (ideal for those looking for teaching experience)
