Ortus Recruitment are currently hiring for a vacancy as a general Teaching Assistant in an Ofsted graded “good” school located in Sanderstead.

Applicants will need to have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service, be able to provide two references and be available for full time work if they wish to work in this role. Previous experience within the education sector is desired but not required although previous experience with children in a work setting is. Also, if you are a recent graduate and want to follow this career path then you are also encouraged to apply.

The role will involve supporting students of all abilities in a Year 3 class throughout the course of the year. This could be with academic issues they may face or anything to do with their wellbeing, highlighting concerns with the relevant staff so they can be provided with additional help if needed. There will be a lot of interacting with the class teacher as you will have to work together to organise fun educational lessons for the student. This is the first year of the KS2 curriculum so you will need basic knowledge on this.

The successful candidate will need to have great communication skills, be friendly, helpful and passionate about aiding children with their learning and development.
