Do you have experience supporting children with Speech and Language Difficulties?
A primary school in Thornton Heath is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with a Year 2 pupil with speech and language needs, helping them develop communication and social skills.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one support for a Year 2 child with speech and language delays.
• Use visual aids, PECS, and Makaton to support communication.
• Work alongside the class teacher and speech & language therapist.
• Encourage confidence in verbal and non-verbal interactions.
• Implement targeted interventions to improve expressive and receptive language skills.

About You:

• Experience supporting children with speech and language difficulties.
• Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other communication methods is desirable.
• A patient, nurturing, and encouraging approach.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability skills.
