Ortus Recruitment are looking for an SEN specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and vibrant Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ 3 form entry primary school.

Located in the London Borough of Barnet, the school is local to public transport, has excellent facilities and a friendly and supportive leadership team and teaching staff to work alongside you.

The role:

Provide individual support on a one-to-one and small group basis to students with special educational needs, supporting them with their social and emotional development. You will be assisting them both in lesson and while navigating around the school, aiding them in their engagement with their peers and teachers, and during lunchtime activities. You may also be aiding the teacher in a general capacity, assisting them with the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons and marking homework.

*The role will be a chance to broaden your SEN and classroom experience and provides the opportunity for a permanent or long-term position.*

The Ideal Candidate will:

• Have prior experience working with SEN pupils
• Possess a level 3 Teaching qualification/ Relevant degree
• Have a patient and compassionate nature
• Be passionate about SEN
• Be experienced in leading one-to-one sessions

Role Requirements:

• Provide 2 references
• Provide proof of right to work in the UK
• Have an enhanced DBS on the update server OR be willing to apply for one
• Have 3-6 Months of classroom experience
