Ortus Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving mainstream primary school based in Kennington, currently seeking to appoint a Learning Support Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated EYFS/KS1 team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will primarily support children with special educational needs and social, emotional and behavioural challenges, providing tailored 1:1 and small group support.

While the school follows the National Curriculum, it benefits from the flexibility to enhance its curriculum and offer a creative, enriching learning experience for all pupils. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy and a hands-on approach, helping to create a fun, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting children with additional needs in EYFS and KS1
• Delivering tailored interventions and in-class support
• Working under the guidance of the SENCo and class teachers
• Encouraging pupil independence and building positive relationships
• Assisting in the planning and delivery of engaging activities

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds a relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience
• Has prior experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Is warm, proactive and team-oriented
• Brings a creative and flexible approach to classroom support
• Can confidently build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• Demonstrates a commitment to high standards and inclusive practice
