Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with our partnered mainstream primary school based in Earlsfield, currently seeking a full-time Classroom Assistant to join their team. This is a full time, long term-time only role, offering a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pupils with SEND.

• Location: Earlsfield, London
• Start: ASAP
• Contract: Full-time, Long-term TTO
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm

About the Role:

You’ll be working closely with a fantastic team of staff and directly supporting pupils across a wide age range. The role involves preparing resources, assisting with classroom activities, and playing an active role in each student’s academic and emotional development.

This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same – you’ll support pupils in small group or 1:1 settings, and help deliver a creative and nurturing learning experience tailored to individual needs.

The school is an inclusive environment with a resource base, which caters for pupils aged 3–11 with SEND and SEMH needs, providing structured, personalised education in a safe, positive environment.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and/or SEND (ASC experience is a bonus!)
• A confident, patient and empathetic approach to working with young people
• A willingness to take on new challenges and use a therapeutic, pupil-centred approach
• Comfortable supporting both academic and emotional development
• Someone passionate about making a long-term difference for pupils with SEN in a mainstream primary school setting
