Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £85–£100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner for the right candidate)
About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in the classroom? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary/secondary school in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with experienced educators, support pupils across a range of abilities, and gain valuable experience in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum
- Work with small groups or 1:1 with pupils who require additional support
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social interactions
- Assist with administrative tasks, display work, and classroom organisation
- Contribute to the school community and its values of respect, growth, and inclusivity
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about education and child development
- Positive, reliable, and proactive
- Patient and understanding, with strong communication skills
- Able to build strong relationships with children and colleagues
- Willing to learn and grow within a team environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential)
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3) is desirable
- A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
