SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT – SHEFFIELD

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at one of our welcoming and inclusive Sheffield-based primary schools.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech and language needs. You will provide both one-to-one and small group support, helping each child to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted support and interventions for children with SEN
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Support pupils’ access to the curriculum, adapting materials when necessary
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with SEN (in schools or other settings)
  • A nurturing, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to inclusive education and child development
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
