Role Overview: Classroom Assistant

• Deliver focused support to pupils, including those with additional needs, to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to maintain a positive, well-organised classroom environment.
• Implement tailored strategies to support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Promote pupil independence and encourage positive behaviour to help students achieve their potential.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in educational settings, preferably supporting pupils with additional needs.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Knowledge of autism-specific strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills essential for effective collaboration with staff and pupils.
