Ortus Recruitment is working with a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school in Dollis Hill (NW2) to recruit a confident and proactive Graduate Teaching Assistant to support in a Year 6 classroom starting in September.

The Role

This is a general classroom support role in Year 6, assisting the class teacher with daily learning activities, small group interventions, and pupil progress. You’ll also offer 1:1 support where needed, particularly for pupils preparing for the transition to secondary school.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, particularly in Maths and English, and will be confident supporting children with varied learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with strong academic skills and an interest in teaching.

What We’re Looking For

• A graduate (any subject welcome) or someone with strong Maths and English skills
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the KS2 National Curriculum, particularly Year 6 SATs preparation
• A calm, professional and supportive presence in class
• Experience working with children (school, tutoring, mentoring or similar) is desirable
• A genuine passion for education and helping children achieve their best

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging Year 6 lessons

• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and SEN teams where required
