TEACHING ASSISTANT – SHEFFIELD

Job Summary
We are a friendly and inclusive primary school in Sheffield looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education, learning, and helping children reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support, including children with additional needs.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and organisation.
  • Support positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and inclusive learning.
  • Foster a safe, encouraging and supportive environment for all pupils.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing attitude.
  • Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Term time only (school holidays off)
