Do you have experience supporting children with Autism (ASC) on a 1:1 basis?

Ortus Recruitment is working with a mainstream primary school in EN8, who are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a child in KS1 with ASC. This is a full-time role starting in September with immediate trial days available.

The Role:

• 1:1 support for a pupil in Key Stage 1 with Autism (ASC)
• Helping the pupil access the curriculum in a calm, structured way
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents
• Supporting emotional regulation and building routines
• Creating a safe and inclusive classroom experience

Requirements:

• SEN experience (Autism, communication needs, sensory difficulties)
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Patience, empathy, and reliability
• Full-time availability from September
• Able to trial immediately
