Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term opportunity in a welcoming and inclusive school?
Do you have experience supporting children with Autism (ASC) on a 1:1 basis?
Would you like to work in a vibrant primary school in EN8 with great local transport links?
Ortus Recruitment is working with a mainstream primary school in EN8, who are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a child in KS1 with ASC. This is a full-time role starting in September with immediate trial days available.
The Role:
- 1:1 support for a pupil in Key Stage 1 with Autism (ASC)
- Helping the pupil access the curriculum in a calm, structured way
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents
- Supporting emotional regulation and building routines
- Creating a safe and inclusive classroom experience
Requirements:
- SEN experience (Autism, communication needs, sensory difficulties)
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Patience, empathy, and reliability
- Full-time availability from September
- Able to trial immediately
