Unqualified Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Role
Location: West Drayton, Hillingdon (Mainstream Primary School)
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (PAYE – No Umbrella)
Job Type: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm | Term Time Only

We are working with a highly supportive mainstream primary school in West Drayton that is looking for an unqualified Learning Support Assistant to join their team in September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role working 1:1 with a pupil who has Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism and learning difficulties.
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with children, proactive, and willing to use their initiative in a classroom setting. Graduates, career changers, and those with school, care, youth work or sports coaching experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting a pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
- Assisting the classroom teacher with learning activities and lesson delivery
- Promoting pupil engagement, emotional regulation, and appropriate behaviour
- Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
- Working collaboratively with the SENCO, class teacher, and wider support staff
- Helping with classroom prep, tidying, and general learning support tasks
Ideal Candidate:
- 3–6 months of experience working with children with SEN in schools, care, youth work, or similar environments
- Ability to follow instructions and use initiative when needed
- Confident, calm, and patient approach with strong communication skills
- Positive, proactive attitude with a genuine passion for helping children succeed
