Graduate Teaching Assistant Job Description
The role will consist of working as support to the class teacher with day – to – day activities as well as some 1-1 work and taking some intervention groups. The right candidate will have strong secure knowledge of maths and literacy, have great behaviour management in the classroom and playground.
As the dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant of a year 5 class, you will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in ensuring children reach their full potential. You will supervise lunch and play breaks alongside lesson time, organise activities and assist with the decoration of the classroom. You will also meet regularly with the SENDCO, and Class Teacher to discuss progress and plans of action to support improvement in any pupils with SEN.
The ideal candidate will have some previous experience either as a Graduate Teaching Assistant or voluntary work experience supporting children or adults. The school is also keen to hear from recent Graduates who may have relevant voluntary work experience (particularly with vulnerable people) and who are interested in pursuing a career within education.
