KS2 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (West Drayton)
Location: West Drayton, UB7
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE – No Umbrella)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive, and high-achieving primary school in West Drayton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in Years 5 and 6, working 1:1 and in small groups, particularly with those who have additional needs, including SEND and EAL.
You will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that nurtures every child’s academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the teacher in lesson delivery and classroom routines
- Work 1:1 or in small groups to support learning and emotional wellbeing
- Assist children with special educational needs and English as an Additional Language
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Prepare and deliver fun, creative activities
- Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtime, and school trips
- Keep simple records and contribute to progress tracking

- Passionate about working with children in KS2
- Proactive, friendly, and a strong team player
- Patient, calm, and able to support a range of learning needs
- Good communication skills with both pupils and staff
- Committed to safeguarding and supporting all pupils equally
Requirements
- Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3) – desirable
- Experience working in a school or with children – preferred
- Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
