Teaching Assistant
An Outstanding-rated primary school located in Stockwell is seeking a resilient and committed Teaching Assistant to support a pupils with SEMH. This role is ideal for individuals with prior experience managing behaviour and supporting emotional well-being in a school, youth work, or therapeutic setting. The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff and the SENCO to ensure all children feel supported, safe, and engaged in their learning. If successful on trial, this will be a full-time placement for the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques
- Assist in the development and delivery of targeted interventions to support social and emotional skills
Candidate Requirements:
- Recent Graduate
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Calm, empathetic, and solution-focused approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Must be able to give one week’s notice before starting
