Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly regarded primary school in Wandsworth, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, to recruit a passionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:00pm, providing essential support across the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide focused 1:1 support to pupils with SEND, helping them engage with learning and reach their full potential
• Support small groups of pupils with additional needs, adapting resources and tasks under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo
• Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Help with classroom preparation and organisation, contributing to a smooth and structured learning experience
• Monitor pupil progress and behaviour, feeding back observations to the teaching team
• Support pupils with personal care or additional physical needs as required
• Encourage independence, self-confidence, and social skills among pupils with SEND

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting
• Be proactive, patient, and nurturing in their approach to support
• Be available full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am–4:00pm)
• Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply
• Be based in or able to commute to Wandsworth
