SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a well-established primary school in Lambeth, working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) class. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a background in supporting children with SEN to thrive in a mainstream school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with a variety of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech and Language Difficulties.
- Assist with managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive emotional regulation in the classroom.
- Work alongside the class teacher and support staff to ensure lessons are accessible to all pupils.
- Assist with planning and adapting materials to suit the individual needs of students.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students both inside and outside the classroom.
Person Specification:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
- A current Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Available Full Time (Monday – Friday, 08:30am – 4pm)
