The Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will be confident, proactive, and able to build strong relationships with children who may display challenging behaviour.

You will be expected to:
· Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
· Encourage positive learning and emotional development
· Support the class teacher in maintaining a focused and safe learning environment
· Promote resilience, confidence, and independence in the pupil’s daily learning

Desirable Skills and Experience

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
· Supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
· Previous experience in Youth Work, Behavioural Support, Social Work, or Sports Coaching
· Graduates in Psychology, Education, English, Maths, or Science
· Training in Team Teach, PRICE, or MAPA (advantageous but not essential)

This is a long-term, full-time position, and you must be able to commit fully to the role. Prior experience supporting pupils with autism or behavioural needs is highly desirable.
