Ortus Recruitment are working with a vibrant and successful mainstream primary school in Battersea, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in KS1 with challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology graduate or experienced SEN TA who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP focused on behaviour and emotional regulation
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective strategies
• Support academic progress and encourage positive social development
• Use firm but fair behaviour management techniques to guide and motivate the pupil
• Help the child re-engage with learning and develop confidence in class

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Experienced in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour or SEMH
• Graduate-level qualified, ideally in Psychology or a related subject
• Calm, patient, and resilient, with excellent communication skills
• Proactive and adaptable, able to think on their feet in a dynamic classroom
• Available full-time and ready to start immediately

Training in Team Teach, PRICE, or MAPA would be beneficial but not essential.
