Ortus Recruitment is seeking a motivated and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism in a dedicated provision within a welcoming primary school in Wandsworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about SEN support and eager to make a real, lasting impact.

You’ll be working closely with one pupil while being part of a small provision of around 13 other children, creating a nurturing environment where progress—both academic and emotional—can flourish.

This is a full-time, long-term role (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm).

The Role

We are looking for someone who can bring a firm but compassionate approach, with a genuine desire to guide children through their social, emotional and learning challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working 1:1 with the pupil, providing tailored support throughout the day
• Supporting behaviour regulation and promoting positive interactions
• Assisting with classroom organisation and ensuring a calm learning atmosphere
• Leading small group interventions when required
• Collaborating closely with staff to maintain consistency and support progress

Individuals with mentoring, behaviour support, youth work, or SEN experience will be particularly well suited to this role.

Main Expectations:

• Strong behaviour management skills
• Experience supporting children with SEN, especially Autism
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Ortus Recruitment)
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK
• Ability to provide two professional references
